Every singer, whether beginner or seasoned artist, stands on six foundational pillars that sustain the voice and the art. Breath is the engine — without proper diaphragmatic support, nothing else can function with consistency or power. Posture aligns the instrument, freeing the body to channel airflow without tension or restriction. Pitch is the singer's ability to find, match, and sustain accurate tonal center — the difference between a voice that's musical and one that's merely loud. Tone speaks to the quality and resonance of the sound produced, shaped by the singer's ability to find a free, open placement in the body. Diction ensures that language is communicated with clarity, honoring both the text and the listener — especially vital in sacred music, where the word itself carries weight.
