John 4:21–24
Have you ever wondered what God wants most from you? Not your perfection. Not your performance. Not your Sunday routine. Jesus tells us exactly what the Father is seeking:
“True worshippers who will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.”
—John 4:23
God is actively looking for worshippers, not singers, not church-goers, not busy people - worshippers
Worship in Spirit: A Heart That’s Alive Toward God
To worship “in spirit” means worship comes from the inside. It’s not about the building, the song list, or who’s watching.
It’s about a heart that is awake, honest, and open before God.
You can worship while driving, cooking, sitting in a meeting, or wiping away tears after a long day—because worship begins in the heart, not the sanctuary. It's cultivated all week long by your personal relationship with God.
Truth keeps worship grounded. It reminds us that God is holy, faithful, loving, sovereign, and true to His Word. When we worship in truth, we’re not just singing—we are agreeing with who God says He is, even when life feels confusing or overwhelming. Worship in truth means we come to God without hiding, pretending, or performing. We also come knowing that Jesus is the Truth and that through Him God provided a way of escape from bondage and into a new and wonderful relationship with God.
True worship is expressed through our obedience to God, our gratitude for everything God provides and has done for us, our surrender to God's will, love for others even when it is hard and trust when we can't trace God's hand. obedience when it’s uncomfortable
Jesus wasn’t giving the Samaritan woman a theology lesson—He was giving her an invitation.
And He gives the same invitation to us.

One Easter Sunday my pastor called me at 5am and asked me to lead worship at the Sunrise Service that was starting in a few hours. I had nothing prepared but this new song came to me. He loved it and began singing it all over the country. I decided that I better copyright it.
